A single tragic mistake changes the life of devoted father Michal forever, leaving him consumed by guilt. As he and his wife Zuzka struggle to come to terms with what has happened and its devastating consequences, their marriage is tested to its limits. Haunted by what he has done, Michal begins to question whether he deserves a future at all. Yet, in the midst of grief and guilt, their love offers a fragile source of strength.
Inspired by real events, Tereza Nvotová’s powerful drama is anchored by an extraordinary performance from Milan Ondrík as Michal. Intimate and unflinching, Father explores the devastating consequences of one moment, the complexities of human error and whether love and understanding can help us find a way forward.
